Events -
Parihaka is on the 5th at Okains Bay Museum. A big thank you to those families able to join us. It will be a lovely morning together. There will be approx 170 students there! Ngā tamariki have been practicing their waiata for their performance. I have included links to the songs from youtube. It would be great if you could continue practicing with your tamariki to help them continue building their confidence. E rere taku poi -

Christmas Holiday - forms have been handed out this week. If you have plans to away, please let us know. It helps us plan staffing more effectively. Our last day for 2025 is 23rd December. We will reopen on the 5th January 2026. Children's Christmas party on the 10th. We have a petting zoo and Santa coming. More details on timing will be available in a few weeks. If you would like your tamaiti to receive a present from Santa please bring a small, named present to the office by the 8th December.
Measles outbreak - As you will have read on the news, there are cluster cases of measles popping up around the country. While there are currently no cases in Canterbury (and we hope it stays that way!) we are monitoring the outbreak. We will let you know if any cases or close contacts are linked to the preschool and what to do under advice from Public Health Services.
Occupancy - Ellody has returned to preschool, much to the delight of her friends. Her younger sister, Mia has also started in the Piwakawaka space. We are currently closed to all new enrolments as we are at capacity until late 2026. If you are thinking of increasing the days your tamaiti attends or have a sibling you are thinking of enrolling in 2026, now is a good time to let Steph know to avoid disappointment in missing out on additional days or preferred month to start.
